This post is long overdue and I can't believe it has been almost two years since my colleague and I experienced a stay in paradise (close to paradise, at least).

Anyway, two years ago, a colleague and I were lucky to be assigned to a project that will involve covering an event in Boracay Shangri-La. It was on the latter part of March, the peak of summer, but it was raining all week long. It was a surprise that the next day when we were on the way to the airport, the sky did not even have a hint of a single cloud.

It was my second time to go to Boracay, the first time was back in December 2011 with my family. Ironically, I also had planned a trip to Boracay on June the same year, so that allowed me to see Boracay thrice is less than a year's time.

Arriving in the port leading to Boracay, I expected to go through the hassle of lining up and waiting for the ferry but this was Shangri-La, so we were welcomed by two uniformed personnel from the resort who ushered us to Mabuhay Centre, which is Shangri-La's own lounge. Of course, they have their own speedboat. No photos as we were with our two big bosses, so we had to be behaved. :))

We stayed in a twin room facing the garden. The prices of their room range from P20,000 to 40,000, so we expected everything to be luxurious. We underestimated. It was paradise. :D

We had some welcome snacks consisting of fruits and some desserts including macarons and random cookies. The room also included a balcony, where you can lounge with your companion:

The bathroom was huge! It had sinks, a bath tub, an enclosed toilet, and an enclosed shower.

We didn't want to leave the room but we had to go to the welcome dinner with our client, a number of executives, and of course, our two big bosses. I had no photos of the food but everything was delicious. As expected of Shangri-La.

The next day was hectic, where we spent the whole day covering the discussions. Our last day in Boracay Shangri-La, I decided to go for a jog. I brought my jogging shoes just to experience jogging in Boracay. Let the photos speak for itself below:

There are two beaches in Boracay Shangri-La, Punta Bunga and Banyugan beach. The former faces the port and the other one is a smaller beach bordered with two rock formations.

Back in the room, we discovered two things in the room - first, you can open the bathroom door so you can relax in the bathtub and see the garden and second, you can move the sliding door that separates the balcony and the room so you can enjoy the room alfresco.

I would love to come back when I become a millionaire haha. Obviously it was one of those experiences that you could say to yourself that it's a 'once in a lifetime' thing but who knows. I'll be back when I can. :)
